Boots are here!!!

|
I went and picked up my new ski boots on Saturday afternoon.  It took about an hour and a half to get them fitted, but now they feel like a pair of slippers. Giant, hard plastic and metal slippers.  I'm pretty stoked.  They charge $35 to get the fitting done, but they waive the extra cost if you purchase some aftermarket foot beds from them that cost from $30-$70, so that justified getting new foot beds at the same time for me.  I didn't think the wife was gonna let me splurge, but when she heard the price she told me to go ahead and get the foot beds.

Skis and boots are now at the shop (function 4 sports) getting a release check done and a base grind/wax/sharpen.  I fell in love with the Giro G10 helmet down at Freestyle, but for $130, and my being a cheapskate, I'm gonna try to find it cheaper.  You can buy some cool earphone attachment options for it (they call them "Tune-Ups").  You buy some ear pads that are configured for bluetooth, or regular headphones, or two-way radio.  The two way radio option would be awesome if it will hook into the radios that we use on patrol at the Nut.

Before I went to pick up the boots I stopped at Crutchfield for customer appreciation day to try and draw a 30% off or better coupon so I could justify a Canon G10 to photograph with while I'm skiing, but no dice. Oh well.  Maybe I'll win the lottery whenever I get around to playing it.
