Didn't do too much today. Drove around with Lily. Got a bagel from Mr. J's. Talked to the guys over at Mossy Creek about my winter trout fishing fly selection. Played a ton of Crackdown. Drove up to Meem's Bottom (just a tad shy of the covered bridge) to fish with Mikey for a bit. We fished till the sun was gone. Didn't catch a thing but hey, I figure it's called fishing, not catching. It was weird to fish with a spinning rod, but Mikey doesn't fly fish and I was in a hurry to get on the water, so spin fishing it was. I've got some good leads now on some fly-fishing only places now, so I'll be hitting them like the angry fist of God another time this winter to try my hand at cold weather trout fishing.

Here's the bridge near Meem's Bottom. Sometime I'll post one of the covered bridge there.

Just another day of work and then a little bit of skiing to top it all off. I picked up Lily from the baby sitter's house on my way home from the Nut.

So I got ambitious and made a new years resolution that I will take one (and publish to flickr and this blog) photo a day for the entire year. Some of these photos will be pretty random, and oh well, it's all good. Somehow it will grow me as an artist and a person. I'll start a day late and publish yesterday's photo today.

Yes, it's a steak, egg and cheese biscuit from Quarles. They're $2.61 after tax and on the way up to catch first chair at the ski area, they're worth their weight in gold. Besides, what better way to start a new idea, than with breakfast?

Oh well...

So I said I'd post a photo of my new boots, but I haven't yet because I've been skiing the heck out of them. Maybe I'll remember to bring a camera to the Nut to take a pic. I'm pretty stoked about having won a photo contest on the National Geographic Intelligent Traveler blog. They haven't posted my photo yet on the blog, but it should be happening soon. This is the prize winning photo (yes, I did win a prize. no, it isn't fame and fortune. what did I win, you ask? a box of chocolates. I kid you not.)
